Pickleball

Pickleball has become a common sport in middle school physical education classes in the United States, and has become increasingly popular among young and old people. In New York alone, more than 500 schools have set up pickleball courses. Every year, there are city, state and national pickleball competitions in many places in the United States. The United States has a national pickleball association.
The rules of pickleball are similar to those of tennis, but only serves are used to score. In addition, serves must be hit from the underhand (below the waist); both players must land the ball once on their court before they can volley. Pickleball is designed to be active for all players. Pickleball is a game of placement and patience; it is not a game of strength or brute force. The hitting rules prohibit volleying within 7 feet of the net, which helps mitigate overpowering spikes at the net.
